Real-World Experience
I spent four years working as a stand-up comic. That gave me direct feedback on gag-writing and long-form story telling. And a lot of confidence in being funny. I've worked with mobile TV production companies who had characters but no stories; theatre producers who had an idea but no story; webisode makers who had a script but too few gags... and numerous others.
